HFD's Hill Rides in Dujardin Clinic!

On February 20th and 21st of 2019, HFD Head Trainer, Verena Hill, was invited to train in a private clinic with Olympian and global superstar, Charlotte Dujardin.

Charlotte Dujardin CBE is an elite British dressage rider, triple Gold Medalist at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics Games, European Champion, World Champion and holds all three World Records in the sport of Dressage. The clinic was hosted by Alyssa Pitts of AP Dressage in Snohomish, WA.

Verena rode 7 year old KWPN gelding, Lopez van de Kwalapas aka “Soli,” owned by Sharon Mace. This was a fortuitous and unexpected opportunity and it still feels very surreal that we were able to go watch and that Verena was able to learn from the best in the world. Dujardin truly has a magical ability to challenge riders to push themselves beyond their comfort zones bringing out the brilliance in both horse and rider. Even though she is seven months pregnant, Verena was not going to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity and she rose to the occasion bravely, even getting a mini blessing for the belly from Dujardin after her rides. Charlotte was impressed with Soli’s gaits and temperament, even suggesting she might like to take Soli back to England with her. We told her we would all have to go with them.
